Thinking about doing insurance marketing on Facebook to generate your own exclusive insurance leads?
Are you wondering if insurance Facebook leads are even good quality?
The good news is: it’s an incredibly effective strategy.
Not only is it the best way to end the days of cold calling, shared leads, networking events, and taking referral partners out to lunch…
But with the right systems in place — you can easily use Facebook to take your insurance agency to $100K-$200K/month in new business premium.
…I know because I’ve done it myself!
However the bad news is…
That insurance marketing on Facebook and lead-gen can also be incredibly complicated.
So here are 3 of the biggest pieces of advice I can give to agents who’re looking to get better results on Facebook.
Tip #1: DON’T Try To Do Everything Yourself
Sounds obvious…
Yet this is the single most common mistake I see agents making when they first get started with Facebook for insurance agencies.
Instead of following a few proven ad templates, or a few basic tried-and-true marketing principles…
They go DEEP into the rabbit hole of learning everything themselves on YouTube — trying to piecemeal their marketing strategy from 100 different sources.
But generating leads and doing insurance marketing on Facebook is a complex puzzle.
Running the ad itself is only the tip of the iceberg…
Behind that you have to worry about things like ad costs, ad fatigue, CPLs & CPMs, tracking, landing pages, survey pages, follow-up campaigns…
…and on and on the list goes.
This is why I always suggest to my fellow agents to SAVE themselves money in the long-run – by investing in pre-built tools and strategies.
For example, there’s software out there like InsuranceFunnels that lets you “peek” at which marketing funnels (within the insurance industry, of course) are performing best right now…
And then in just a few clicks — you can replicate the funnel, customize it for your lead gen efforts, then deploy it for amazing results!
Do solutions like this cost you a bit of money every month?
Of course they do.
But when the alternative is to spend thousands of dollars out of your own pockets trying to ‘crack’ the code to generate insurance Facebook leads yourself…
This is the option I know I’d take every day of the week.
Tip #2: Focus on Home over Auto
Making this pivot was responsible for some of the biggest growth I saw in my agency when I first went independent.
So even if selling Auto policies is your bread and butter right now (like it used to be for me…)
I highly recommend you don’t waste your time trying to generate Auto Insurance leads on Facebook.
Instead, you should focus entirely on generating Home Insurance Facebook leads.
Because, when you capture a high-intent lead who’s ready to buy Home Insurance…
What homeowner doesn’t also have a car?
In fact, since roughly 60% of homeowners are married…
Most homes have at least 2 cars or more!
But how many car owners also have at least one house?
Here’s an example — let’s say you spent $10 to acquire a ready-to-buy Home Insurance Facebook lead.
Not only are you closing them on a new Home policy…
There’s an extremely HIGH likelihood you’ll cross-sell them on a couple new Auto policies too.
But on the other hand, if you spent that same $10 to acquire an Auto Insurance lead…
Then what?
Sure, you might sell them on that new Auto policy…
But rarely are there any follow-up opportunities after that.
Not to mention, Home Insurance policies typically stick WAY longer than Auto policies anyways…
And usually require a lot less work throughout the life of the policy too.
So to sum it up:
If you’re going to use Facebook to try and generate your own P&C leads, you’ll get way more bang for your buck going after Home.
Tip #3: My Big “Secret” To Success With Insurance Marketing on Facebook
If you’ve made it this far then you’re in for something special.
It’s not often I reveal this strategy outside my flagship Insurance Marketing Program Fully Covered…
But if we’re here to talk about scaling your agency using Facebook — then this is as good as it gets.
Now yes, you can (and should) use Facebook to generate leads for yourself.
But the single strategy that’s taken me to over $5.1 million in premiums in less than 4 years…
Is that I don’t use Facebook to generate insurance leads.
Instead, I generate home buyer leads…
Then send them over to my referral partners!
Here’s why:
Having strong referral partners who send leads your way when they’re ready for insurance — is arguably the EASIEST way to win new business for your agency, right?
→ Trust is already built, thanks to the referral
→ They’re ready to buy now — and aren’t just ‘shopping around’
→ You didn’t have to do any work chasing down the policy yourself!
However to try and attract Loan Officers and Mortgage Pros — most agents reach for the same old tactics that’ve been overused for the past 30 years.
They drive around delivering donuts, bagels and coffee…
Or try to “provide value” with gift cards and expensive lunches…
But imagine being the only guy or gal in your area who’s giving their referral partners the ONE thing the care about most:
New business for themselves!
It’s like having the most powerful bargaining chip in the world..
Putting you in a position where, instead of chasing down potential referral partners and practically begging them to toss you a lead…
They’re now asking to work with you — forming a strong relationship that helps both sides grow their pipelines.
Okay, those are my 3 tips for you to effectively run insurance marketing on Facebook.
However, it doesn’t end there.
You should have a system in place to make sure your leads convert.
How to Convert Insurance Facebook Leads Into Opportunities
The name of the game in our business…
Is LEADS.
Without leads you can’t write policies.
And without a good flow of leads…
The entire agency could crumble.
But the thing is, even WITH a good flow of leads…
It’s still incredibly easy to waste ‘em.
How?
It all comes down to how impatient everyone is these days.
We want whatever it is we want…
And we want it NOW.
This is why Follow Up Campaigns are such a big aspect of Fully Covered.
And they should be part of how you run your agency.
Regardless of whether or not you’re part of the program.
‘Cause check this out…
Leads are 21X More Likely to convert into an opportunity if you respond in 5 minutes or less.
This is just one study out of hundreds you can find online.
And others report that if you take 24 hours or longer to respond…
Your chances of converting that lead drop to basically 0.
Crazy, right?
So if you wanna make the most out of your leads…
It is CRITICAL that you’re quick with the follow up.
Unfortunately, for many agents…
This means dropping everything they’re doing to make a call, or send a text.
Fortunately there are ways to automate this…
(*cough* Fully Covered *cough)
But even if you wanna be old-school and do it manually…
That’s still better than nothing.
‘Cause what’s the point of working hard to generate leads…
If you’re just gonna waste the opportunity?
BTW, this goes for leads you send to Loan Officers too.
And this is why I say it’s important you don’t just pick ANY Loan Officer to work with.
Because if they don’t have the systems in place to follow up with these leads?
It’s just a waste of everyone’s time.
Your generating leads for nothing…
And they’re just gonna tell you that the leads are garbage.
(Even though it’s on THEM why they’re not converting.)
It’s becoming more apparent…
Insurance agents who are struggling to scale usually do NOT have a system in place…
The ones who are scaling up like crazy…
…doubling their production after every few months…
Are all using automated systems.
Because systems are duplicatable.
They run 24/7.
But you can’t do that.
You need rest.
Sleep.
You also need entertainment.
Time with the family.
Time for yourself.
See, I want all those things too.
That’s why I swear by my systems.
And it’s one of my best agency-scaling secrets…
It’s called Insurance Funnels, and agents all over the Nation are falling in love with due to the results it generates!
It’s designed to easily turn leads into calls completely on autopilot.
PLUS – you’ll also get all of my email templates.
So you don’t have to wreck your brains trying to come up with what to say.
I’ve spent thousands of dollars testing them.
They’re designed for maximum conversions and response.
So all the insurance leads you’ve generated don’t go to waste.
